I have 10 non tech uses that I switched to snaps so they would stay up to date and I'm sure the phone calls will start soon because all 3 of my main computers all look the same. Hi, I’ve been having troubles with LibreOffice Writer lately. Is there something else I need to revert. First, the easy part: To activate the standard Windows dark mode, just head to Settings > Personalization > Colors on your PC. I did a snap revert and now it says it is running 6.1.4 but the menus are still corrupt. If I get to the options dialogs, they write over each other and don't refresh so eventually just become a jumbled mess with no way to change anything. They are transparent with white text so I can't read any of the text. Now there is a dark theme and the top bar menus are completely useless. Of that it should be noted that in the View, Colour Scheme settings these are not independent of how you have your Microsoft Windows settings made, settings regarding colours in Microsoft Windows can affect the result of the LibreOffice 'View' setting made.Overnight my snap must have updated to 6.2. Under Tools > Options > Application Colors, choose LibreOffice Dark from the scheme menu. I can do this through 'Tools Options Application Colours. So, even the page is black and the text white. So, I want a completely dark theme set permanently in Writer. (1) The 'View' settings and (2) The 'Application Colours' settings. The LibreOffice 24. For a proper dark mode, we need more than dark toolbars. LibreOffice pulls this system theme setting and makes the file/edit/view etc menu backgrounds dark (I dislike the modern ribbon layout - the greatest among many advantages over MS Word). Firstly, I know there’s lots of information about dark theme, but I haven’t found a solution to the following. So in all it seems there are two places that can be tweaked around with to get a Dark Theme. Personalization: default look do not use themes. (And the colour change to a 'visited' link doesn't work properly, but I've now filed a bug report on that.) Normal is dark theme is within the toolbars and not the background sheet. Note that if you try this there are tick-boxes next to the "Unvisited links" and "Visited links" - you need to put a tick in those boxes to get the link colours to act as they should. More instructions for dealing with the Application Colours settings can be seen here: Application Colors. Is it possible to use themes on the Windows 10 version of LO Such as this one: Breeze Darker GTK. I tried fiddling around with a Dark theme a bit more in LibreOffice and found that if you go (menu) Tools > Options.> LibreOffice > Application Colours > Colour Scheme > Scheme: and from the drop-down select the in-built option LibreOffice Dark then you get a complete Dark Scheme for the editor window. I tried the above in my Windows 10 system, liked the result, the menus and icons display is much clearer, and for now am using the Dark theme in LibreOffice. In any case, besides the theme issue you are experiencing, there are several good reasons to switch to LibreOffice anyway, some of which are given here: Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information (You can mess around with the Windows theme once you see the LibreOffice Dark theme correctly.) So to test out the LibreOffice Dark theme itself you might find that switching to the Windows 11 Default theme helps you see the LibreOffice Dark theme as it was intended. This might be because of the Microsoft Windows system theme you are using in Windows 11 – for example you might be using a custom Windows theme of your own and that is having an, in this instance, undesirable consequence. LibreOffice gives you the freedom to switch your working environment to a fully dark theme or to keep light themed elements.
